abundant fish and produce. The Fluke was a natural choice. The fish was delicate, firm and wonderfully dressed with a sauce gribiche. The sauce was an emulsion made with cooked egg yolks, fresh herbs and vinegar. The secret is in the sauce, and yes--a delicate fish can marry and thrive beautifully with this fresh and creamy layer of flavor. Hands down, without question, Straight Wharf is the finest restaurant on Nantucket. If you are a newbie to the island, please call in advance to make your reservation. The restaurant books up very quickly and you do not want to miss this culinary delight.

GETTING THERE
Nantucket is not an easy place to get to. That’s why people like it so much. The most economical way to get there is to drive to Hyannis Port, MA and take the Hy-Line fast ferry or the Nantucket Steamship Authority’s regular ferry service. Alternately, from New York City, you can hop on one of Jet Blue’s daily non-stop service flights or take one of Cape Air’s small twin engine Cesna 420’s from Signature Aviations FBO out of Westchester County Airport (HPN.) If you do leave from the Westchester Airport, you’ll have to drive into the secured parking lot to stage your luggage, as you can’t park in Signature’s lot overnight. There are two parking options. The closest is the overnight garage within walking distance of Signature. ($27 per day) The other option is a discount parking lot located on the campus of SUNY Purchase. ($15 per day) There is a shuttle bus service that will pick you up and drop you off. The flight to Nantucket is approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes and the round trip airfare is $618.00, all-inclusive.
